When we pray that God speaks to us and that we can listen to him, the next thing for us to do is to listen.
It’s a bit like if you call your child and you tell him take the bottle and the money I’m going to commission you and as soon as he takes the money he takes the bottle he’s already gone on the way and then you go wanted to drink Sprite but he comes and gives you a Fanta; you tell him no it’s not what I wanted and he still doesn’t take the time to listen to you go back where he came from and bring you a Jin tonic he comes back with it and you tell him no it’s not what I want and he rushes to get you a beer and comes to tell you mom or dad I finally understood come on and it’s up to you to ask him who told you that I drink beer? And he answers, it’s fine, I understand, and he goes back to exhaust all the tastes except finally to bring you that Sprite you need; it is an image of what the children of God do they do many good things for God except what he expects them to do for him; we pray, we preach, we teach good things, we are ready to give time to God every Sunday, during the week, we are willing to give our tithe, our offering, in short, we are always ready to give something that we think will contribute. to the glory of God; but the problem like this child is that this glory that he wants to give to his parents is done according to his will and suddenly that the dad or the mom loves his child, he is not satisfied because he it’s the Sprite he wants he doesn’t want to see his child bring him anything else, he doesn’t want to see his child be zealous, go back and forth uselessly and that’s the case for many of us they think that God wants them to come to church on Sunday, to invest themselves in a service that they sing in the choir, that they give their offerings, their tithes, that they talk about him; it is true but in a general way however, in a specific and perfect way, it is not the case.
The will of God is much more specific and personal than that so it is addressed to you personally according to the name you bear of the gift of talents in the smallest details with the day, the hour in short everything is settled.
When we start doing extras because we don’t want to take the time to listen, we end up doing everything with all our zeal, with all our will, except that of God and finally the opposite.
Look at this child who is going to buy what we don’t need, these are unnecessary expenses, but he in his heart had a good disposition, he wanted to please and wanted people to know that he was able to quickly go and buy. what we expected without telling him and in the end he was mistaken for not having listened.
So many are ready to do whatever they think will please God; there is a category of people who are ready to respect the ten commandments to the letter, respect all the principles of the church to which they belong and even participate in all the programs but the problem is that they are ready to do so. do in their own freedom, in their own comfort and as soon as difficulties arise or the need to pay a certain price, they are no longer willing to serve God in this way. It is easy to find people who serve the Lord, but it is difficult to find people whom God uses. We generally give God what we want, we do not try to give him what he wants and when we do, he does not accept our service. We should not give to God because we have, come to worship because we have time or feel good, we give a lot because we have a lot.
What we spend in price or quality for God does not matter in the eyes of God what matters is that we give him what he wants, how he wants and when he wants. What matters to him is what serves to advance his kingdom even if it is done with a good heart, which is why our relationship foundation with God and the reasons for which we serve him must be reviewed.
There are those who will not be saved and there are those whose value of service will be estimated, so an estimate of the weight you will have had in the kingdom of God, of the impact you will have had in people’s lives and who will will be useful because God counts in terms of impact; he doesn’t just want you to be in his house but he wants us to be there to have some impact; for example if someone preaches it is not the most important, the most important thing is that this preaching has a certain value by what it will produce in the heart of his people, in his kingdom and that is what will be counted .
If we plant a tree in our garden it is not to admire its foliage or to boast of its beauty it is the same in the eyes of God we are trees whose estimation will be made through the life they have produced in the hearts of others so it’s not all about saying ok I go to worship, I do this or that, I participate in worship and that’s it.
These kind of people will be surprised to see that in the end they will be thrown into God’s dustbin for not having served his kingdom even though they would have been pillars in the church or super active member. Among the people who will be saved there will be some who will have nothing and will go to the side of the foolish virgins for having done what they wanted with their gifts; and others who will be rewarded by God so there will be those whose name will be written in the book of life and who will have the crown of life and will be saved; at the same time there will be those who will receive the crown of victory for having fought the good fight of faith by being in the category of winners and whose name will also be written in the book of life, that is to say they will have done all that the Lord expected of them with their gifts, their talents and others.
Some will share in life but will have nothing more this is illustrated in the parable of the talents and the mines, we can also see it through those who will come to say Lord Math 25:14 “did we not drive out the demons in my name? the lord will congratulate them but let them know that it was of no use to him so no reward for them. One cannot identify gift and vision; The vision is not the provision and the provision is by no means the vision. You can have a gift and use it in your vision and not in God’s vision God’s provision is not only financial your body is God’s provision and you are only a manager of it reason why, you don’t have to do what you want with it. Imagine you have your son and you entrust him to a nurse, she takes him and puts him in clothes that she likes and not you, you will point out to her that you do not agree with that; it is the case with our body we have to use it in the will of God.
